Welcome to Charles King Images. Here you will find a collection of paintings done by First Sergeant Charles Monroe King, an artist from Cleveland Ohio. His art includes paintings of forgotten African American soldiers who did not receive recognition until years later. He felt it was his duty to chronicle and document their service to this country through his art. Charles loved to use various mediums of art, including Pointillism, Watercolor, Pencil, and Charcoal. He painted themes familiar to him including the African American experience. His family will continue his dream of sharing his images with the world.
“When I draw I’m just after the truth. A lot of my work is just feeling the things I have seen or experienced. I don’t paint things for their negative or positive values. Many of the themes that I choose to paint or draw are about the Black American experience.“
